Born and raised in Kitale, Kenya, during the 1990s, she is the seventh of eight children in a family of farmers. Her upbringing was shaped by the physical demands of farming, fostering a strong work ethic and a deep love for the outdoors. Growing up surrounded by the rugged landscapes of her homeland, Nancy developed a passion for physical activities at a young age.

As an adult, her journey took her to Nairobi, where she worked and lived. In 2018, she joined a hiking group through her workplace at NIC Bank, which reignited her childhood passion for physical activity. This newfound enthusiasm led her to explore Kenya’s diverse terrain, including the Aberdare Ranges, Longonot, Ngong Hills, Mt. Kipipiri, and Elephant Hill. Her hiking adventures culminated in an ambitious climb of Mt. Kenya, Africa’s second-highest peak, in May 2019. The challenge and thrill of this climb ignited a deeper ambition within her—to conquer the 7 summits of the world before turning 40. To date, she has successfully summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and Mt. Elbrus in Russia.

Nancy’s move to Canada was driven by her desire for new challenges and personal growth. She embraced the new culture and climate with the same resilience that fueled her mountaineering pursuits. Today, Canada is where Nancy continues to grow, explore, and thrive, pursuing new adventures and goals aligned with her evolving passion for the outdoors.
